- Day 1: Scenic Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi
Your adventure begins when your dedicated professional driver-guide picks you up from your hotel in Kigali or directly from Kigali International Airport in a customized private 4×4 safari vehicle. You will embark on a highly scenic drive through Rwanda’s countryside, navigating winding roads flanked by beautifully sculpted green hills.
Upon reaching the Cyanika or Katuna border post, your guide will manage the customs and immigration formalities to ensure a smooth crossing into Uganda. From there, you will drive into the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving at your lodge in time to settle in, enjoy a warm lunch, and spend a relaxing afternoon listening to the sounds of the forest before a delicious multi-course dinner.
- Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Return Journey
The day starts with an early breakfast at the lodge before we transfer you to the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters. Here, you will join a small group of eight trackers, meet your expert rangers, and receive an essential briefing on safety and park etiquette. Soon after, you will plunge into the dense, misty rainforest, tracking through thick vines and forested ridges in search of your assigned gorilla family. When you locate them, you will spend one magical hour standing just meters away from the gentle giants, observing the silverback lead his family, mothers tending to infants, and juveniles playing.
After the encounter, you will hike back to the station to receive your trekking certificate, reunite with your driver-guide, and enjoy a packed lunch on your drive back across the border to Kigali, where we will drop you off at your hotel or the airport for your departure flight.
